MagicDraw 6.0 is available in 2 editions:

• MagicDraw Standard Edition

• MagicDraw Professional Edition

You can buy Standalone, Mobile or Floating licenses.

Teamwork Server is a piece of the software that allows to work more than one developer with the same OO model. UML model is stored in the teamwork server repository and every single developer working with either Standard or Professional edition of MagicDraw may lock a part of the model and work on that part individually. Later changes may be committed to the server and shared with the team. The server works much like the source code version control system. Teamwork server is sold separately from the clients, so if you purchase the server you need to purchase (or own) a few MagicDraw UML client licenses as well (minimum 2 licenses are needed). The price of the teamwork server depends on the number of the simultaneous connections you want to have to this server.

Teamwork Server does not serve as Floating License Server therefore if you would like to use floating licenses for the work with a teamwork server, you will still need a separate floating license server (FL server is provided for free when you purchase floating licenses).

FL (Floating License) allows you to install and use the same license (i.e. MagicDraw Standard or Professional Edition) on multiple machines. Suppose you have 10 workstations where MagicDraw is used. However in most cases there are only 4 or 5 versions used at the same time. Instead of purchasing 10 Professional (or Standard) Seat licenses you may save and get only 5 Floating licenses. Although floating license costs more than a simple seat license, you still may save since you usually will need less of them.

The MagicDraw UML Mobile License allows to install and use one copy of MagicDraw at place of business or employment, one copy at personal residence, and one copy in a portable laptop computer which is used by a user. Only one license can be used at a time. No additional software is required to track the usage of licenses. The MagicDraw UML Mobile License is perfect solution for the users who spent time working at work, home office, and on the road.
